| Marc D. Freiberger is an executive advocacy attorney specializing
in litigation. He has extensive international legal experience,
most recently serving as a Foreign Service Officer in Denmark
for the United States Department of State. Mr. Freiberger’s
specialties include complex employment agreements, corporate
immigration law, and non-competition restrictions.
As a Foreign Service Officer, Mr. Freiberger’s responsibilities
included negotiating a wide range of foreign policy issues
including trade, security and development on behalf of the
United States. As Vice Consul, he solely adjudicated applications
of U.S. and foreign employers seeking to engage foreign employees
in the U.S, as well as foreign corporations seeking to operate
in the U.S., applying complex corporate immigration law.
Prior to serving with the United States Department of State,
Mr. Freiberger was a member of the pioneering executive advocacy
group at Perkins, Smith & Cohen. There he successfully
advanced the interests of executive clients in adverse employment
actions and the negotiation of employment and severance agreements.
He counseled clients on all matters related to the employer/employee
relationship, including benefits and equity interests, deferred
compensation and trade secret restrictions.
Mr. Freiberger also has significant commercial litigation
experience, honed at Vinton, Nissler, Allen & Vellone,
and Cohen, Brame & Smith, where his practice areas included
securities law, employment law and tort law. He began his
career as Deputy District Attorney in Brighton, Colorado,
where he secured numerous misdemeanor and felony jury and
bench trial convictions.
Mr. Freiberger earned his J.D. from Boston University School
of Law and his B.A. cum laude from Connecticut College. He
is proficient in Danish and Croatian.
