Brian J. MacDonough is an associate concentrating his practice in employment law and executive advocacy, and handles a wide range of employment matters, including discrimination, wrongful termination and contract enforcement.  He counsels his clients on non-litigation matters such as drafting employment agreements, negotiating severance and managing non-competition issues.  Mr. MacDonough was selected by Thomson Reuters to be listed in Massachusetts Rising Stars in the field of employment and labor law for three consecutive years (2009 – 2011). 

Mr. MacDonough is an active member of the Boston Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section, is a member of the BBA’s Labor & Employment Steering Committee and co-chairs their Brown Bag Program Committee.  He is a frequent author and speaker on matters of employment law, and has co-authored chapters in Massachusetts Employment Law and in the supplement to the Massachusetts Basic Practice Manual, both published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc.  Mr. MacDonough also contributes to the quarterly commentaries published in the Massachusetts Discrimination Law Reporter.  Mr. MacDonough has chaired several programs sponsored by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education including the seminar, What Every Lawyer Needs to Know About Employment Law, and is a member of the committees drafting the sexual harassment and procedural regulations on behalf of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Mr. MacDonough earned his B.A. from The Catholic University of America and his J.D., cum laude, from the New England School of Law, where he received the New England Scholar Award for excellence in academic achievement.  Mr. MacDonough also served as an editor of the New England Law Review.

Mr. MacDonough is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the National and Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Associations.
